SmileAgeIndia is a national mission dedicated to advancing oral health literacy and preventive care across all stages of life. Recognizing that a healthy mouth is integral to overall well-being, we work to make oral health accessible, inclusive, and central to the vision of healthy ageing in India.

The Overlooked Connection

Oral health shapes how we eat, speak, learn, and connect with others. Yet it often remains a silent crisis—globally and in India—due to low awareness, limited access, and fragmented care systems. Many preventable oral diseases begin early in life and progress silently, affecting not only children’s learning and nutrition but also adults’ productivity and older persons’ quality of life.

Despite policy attention, challenges remain: low oral health literacy, unequal service access, high disease burden, and inadequate integration with general and primary health programs.

We create cultural and age-appropriate oral health content to empower people wherever they are.

Digital materials tailored for low-literacy and multilingual audiences

Programs in workplaces, elder-care settings, and rural communities

Campaigns illustrating links between oral and general health conditions

Policy Integration & Advocacy

SmileAgeIndia advocates for the inclusion of oral health literacy as a core element of national health and ageing policies.

Campaigning for a statutory oral health literacy body within the Ministry of Health

Producing policy briefs and evidence to strengthen integration with primary and preventive care

Collaborating across public, private, and academic sectors
